The Evidence Room is where the investigation behind History Had Eyes becomes transparent. Here, we present many of the original documents, military records, government correspondence, maps, photographs, newspaper accounts, and eyewitness testimony that shaped the research behind Rescuing Nicholas: The Secret Mission to Save the Tsar and this documentary series.
Unlike many historical documentaries that ask viewers to accept an interpretation, History Had Eyes encourages independent examination. Throughout this section, visitors can review source material, compare competing historical accounts, and follow the research trail that led to conclusions presented in the series. The objective is not to replace one accepted narrative with another, but to allow the evidence to speak for itself.
The foundation of this investigation is documentation. Rescuing Nicholas contains more than 500 endnote citations, reflecting years of research conducted through archives, libraries, government records, military histories, contemporary newspapers, family collections, and published scholarship. Every major question explored in this series is grounded in that research, while also recognizing where evidence remains incomplete or subject to interpretation.
The Evidence Room will continue to grow as additional documents are located, new archives become available, and researchers contribute their own discoveries. History is rarely revealed all at once. It is reconstructed one document, one eyewitness, and one overlooked footnote at a time.
